Glenwood Springs Colorado June 27-July 1, 2021

What a hidden gem Glenwood Springs Colorado is! At less than 5 hours away, this place was the perfect 4 day family getaway!

Sunday, June 27- drove here after church. Swam and hot tubbed before bed

Monday June 28- glenwood cavers adventure park. This place was FANTASTIC. We got there at opening and the was a decent line that took half hour to get to the actual park. The gondola ride up was beautiful, the smell of the mountain was wonderful and the weather/temperature were perfect. The rides were so much fun especially the mine drop, the swings over the cliff side, the alpine coaster and the huge hammer swing over the cliff side! The caves were also so great especially kings row cave. The lines really weren't bad at all so day either. We left the park at about 6:30 and went to dinner at a Nepal/Indian restaurant which was super slow but the masala was delicious. Then it was time to drive back and go to bed.

Tuesday June 29 - Glenwood Hot Springs today. World's largest hot springs! A huge warm swimming pool, a hot tub, a river rafting tube slide, kids water slides and waterfalls, a splash pad and most importantly a diving board. We stayed here all the day long until it suddenly started down pouring at about 5:30 and then we went to dinner and to the hotel to swim some more. We all got fried today despite sunscreen.

Wednesday June 30-Wow. Colorado has so much offer! I couldn't fit today all in one post.

We started the day off at Harvey Gap Reservoir which was stunningly blue green. We spend quite a while here skipping rocks and taking it all in.

Then we headed to Rifle Falls State Park. Here we did a 1.8 mile loop trail to see Rifle Falls from all sorts of angles plus TONS of CAVE EXPLORATION. It was such a fun hike with so much to see and explore the whole way.

After we had our picnic lunch we headed to Sopris Alpaca Farm. CUTEST THINGS EVERRR. Admission is free and you can pay to feed them which is super cheap. They also have the cutest boutique where they have all sorts of unique Alpaca gifts many of which are made from the alpaca wool which is the softest thing ever. Austin did NOT like feeding them lol but the rest of us thought it was delightful!

Then we visited Silt Historical Park which was a fun step back in time. They had all sorts of antique things to look at and explore. Admission was a donation box.

Dinner was sooo delicious with large portions at Minor's Claim Restaurant.

It was back to the hotel for swimming and hot tubbing after dinner. What a fun filled day. Ready for bed now 😴.

Thursday July 1-On the way home we stopped at a park to break up the drive
