Weekend Getaway in California June 2-4 2016

I'm way late in posting this but didn't want to forget. We had a great little getaway to California with Darrin and I and Brady and Melissa (Brother and sis in law). Just a few days but we packed in the fun! Reason for the trip? We have companion status with Southwest this year which means buy one get one free flights. Plus, we still have our season passes to Six Flags from when we went to Texas last year for Darrin's business trip. So, we decided to take advantage of both and get away for a couple days.

We flew in Thursday morning and got to Six Flags Magic Mountain just in time for opening and since we have gold passes we got to park for free and they let us in a little earlier than everyone else so we got to ride a couple rides before the crowds. Awesome! The Rides were top notch. Killer! I literally blacked out on one. Many favorites here.
After all day at the park we headed to Denny's for a late dinner. Then to the hotel to check in and settle for the night.

first virtual reality ride we've been on

The next day, Friday, we went back to the park and spent most of the day there but got so many rides in that we decided we could leave before close. So we left around 5 and headed to Denny's for dinner again :). Can you tell we're cheap? Both days were really hot with Friday being 102! So, exhausted we headed back to the hotel and watched a movie.

I have about 10 more sleeping pictures of Melissa but thought I'd keep it to one for her sake. But this lady can sleep ANYWHERE! No joke :).

The next day Darrin and I went on a whale watching tour. We got a deal on groupon for $9 for it. We saw a ton of dolphins! Black and white ones in huge pods. And we also got to see 3 blue whales! The biggest whales of all! Super fun-really glad we did it.

After whale watching we went to play at Newport beach and went out for a Thai Lunch. Then we went to the movie theater to see the new X-Men (we really liked it!) and were in a SUPER big hurry to make our flight but we made it :)

So grateful for my niece and in-laws who took care of the boys while we got to do this! Although it was short, it was SO much fun and such a great little getaway!
