My Little Boy is 3!

I am now the Mother of a 3 year old! What??! Since when did my baby grow up to be walking and talking, let alone starting to sound out words and carry on full on conversations with me?

I won't say I'm feeling "old" because let's face it-I'm not :). BUT It's simply so surreal that I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and am loving life as a mother.

For his birthday we put streamers all over his door and TONS of balloons out in the hall just out his door. We also put a BIG yellow ball (about the size of an exercise ball) just outside his door with the balloons. I was hoping that he wouldn’t wake up in the night to go to the bathroom but he did. At 12:45am he woke up to go to the bathroom and woke me up to help him. He said, “MOM! Did you bring me a big ball for my birthday in my garage?!” (garage meaning the “door” of streamers :)). He was very excited. The next morning he saw that there was a sign up and he said “Those are the letters for my birthday!” then we had a special birthday breakfast with #3 pancakes. He kept saying “Spence, this is my birthday breakfast!” in a very nice way :). Then we did gifts. He got a toy 4-wheeler, a Truck for big legos, some swimming toys, and a TRAMPOLINE! We opened the curtains and he was SO excited to see his “birthday trampoline!”. When Darrin went to work we went swimming and brought a picnic lunch and then to a playground. Then naptime. After naps we went to his special birthday dinner at Denny’s which he chose to have pancakes (again!) and they brought him ice cream with a candle. After dinner we went to Nickel Cade to play games, get tickets and prizes! To conclude the day we had a glow in the dark bath. I think he had a GREAT day :)

We usually have a joint birthday party with Parker's cousin Adrian every year with Darrin's family. Adrian lives in AZ and comes into town around their birthday's so it's fun to combine :). Adrian LOVES trucks so my sister in law Kat and I decided to do a Truck party for them.

Last year I didn't do a friend Party for Parker out of laziness so I decided that maybe I'll do a friend birthday party every other year now. So, for his friend party this year I asked if he wanted to do a truck party (two parties of the same same theme would be so much easier :). BUT he wanted a dinosaur party.

Ever since Parker has had an imagination, it's involved dinosaurs. "Look out Mom! A dinosaur is coming to get you!", "A Green Dinosaur! AHHH!" etc, etc, etc :).

So, I knew I had to give him the dinosaur party.
