We went to Moab with some family over the long Presidents Day weekend and had a blast! We drove down on Friday afternoon and stayed at the Super 8 there which was actually quite nice! The weather was pretty good-kinda cloudy the first day and a half and chilli but then the sun came out which made it much nicer. 45-60 degrees while we were there-so pretty nice hiking weather which is what we did a lot of! Friday night (Valentines Day) we had a romantic dinner (haha) at Denny's. We're doing a real valentines date on Thursday to make up for it-but for reals-we love Denny's :). Then Saturday and Sunday we did lots of hiking. Saturday alone we did 8 miles total with the kids and I'm not sure about Sunday. Just GORGEOUS though! We went to Moab two years ago with my family and thought we'd done everything there was to do but we were wrong! There was lots more to see and do that we hadn't done. It was a really great time! Pictures! (Pregnancy updates at bottom of pics)
Pregnancy Update:
-I'm now 16 weeks!
-I started feeling the baby at 15 weeks 1 day. I didn't say anything to Darrin until I felt "flutters" at least 5 times-because I wanted to be sure. Then I told Darrin and he put his hand on my belly while we watched TV. I knew he wouldn't feel it. But he DID! 3 times he said, "There it is!" right where his hand was and where I felt it! This baby must have a special connection with Daddy if he can feel it this early!
-I threw up this morning. It's been about a week since I last threw up but I've still had nausea and then this morning happened for a grand total of 19 times. Is it strange I've been counting? haha. It's still nothing compared to others and overall I've been feeling good!
-I have to admit I've been kind of moody lately and I'm blaming it on hormones. Sorry husband and kids and everyone around me! Trying to work on that...
-I don't have a gender ultrasound scheduled yet and it's driving me a little crazy. It seems like all my pregnant friends know the gender. Oh well. Patience-right? I have my next midwife appointment Friday and will hopeufully be able to schedule it a week and a half out from then-crossing my fingers I'll be able to schedule it for 18 weeks.
-The above belly shot was taken today-so a 16 week shot :). Belly is growing but not huge or anything yet.
-I've been doing prenatal yoga 5 days a week for the last 2.5 weeks and I'm LOVING IT! I feel great knowing I'm doing this for my body. I didn't really exercise with either of my other pregnancies and I'm determined to keep it up this time and it'll help me with labor/birth/body recovery and just comfort through pregnancy in general.
-I've been doing a lot of reading and research to prepare myself for natural birth and I'm getting PUMPED! I'm so excited for the time to welcome this baby into our family. My friend lent me Hypnobabies which I've been enjoying as well.

Fun fun! Yes - I thought that was Moab. Cute boys - cute belly! I am doing yoga more, too, & it really does make a difference for me. LOVE YOU sis!
I have heard good things about Hypnobabies from many people who had their babies without any medication. So glad you are giving it a try. You should keep us updated on how it works for you. I have already been considering investing in the materials for next pregnancy, but not sure how it would work for me since medication has never been a strong point of mine.
