Vacation Time + Celine

Well, I recently went on two vacations. First off, Darrin and I went to Las Vegas to celebrate our big 1 year anniversary. There was a furniture show there that Darrin needed to go to for work anyways, so we thought we'd kill to birds with one stone.

We stayed at the Stratosphere Hotel. $22/night and our room was one of the nicest hotels either of us had stayed it! Down comforter, Down pillows, King sized bed, nice carpet, furniture, plasma TV, and non cheesy pictures on the wall. Even the bathroom was nice!

We went to the furniture show which was LOTS of walking (not so fun) but they did have complimentary massages :) YES! We also got all day Xtreme passes for the rides on top of our hotel. There are 3 rides that we could ride as many times as we wanted all day and they were open until 1am. That was a ton of fun! We ate at a few buffets, walked the strip, went to the M&M world, and toured a lot of the exquisite hotels. We also brought "Alias" along with us and watched that part of the time...we just couldn't part with it. We HAD to see what was going to happen!

On Thursday my sisters picked me up and we headed to Arizona to go and visit Tiff. So, Darrin and I said our goodbye's and departed:(.

The trip to Arizona was a BLAST though! We did A LOT of talking (especially in the 13 hour car rides!), pedicures, watched lots of chick flicks, ate chocolate covered strawberries, went to dinner, went to breakfast, went shopping and enjoyed the nice weather there!

Why am I not posting any pictures from these trips you ask? I had my camera STOLEN while in Arizona. All of my pictures from Vegas and Arizona were on there! How could someone sleep at night knowing that they've STOLEN MY MEMORIES!!!???!!! Anyways, that's why this is just a boring post with no pictures :(

Darrin and I also went to the Celine Dion concert that was this past Sunday with my parents. We bought the tickets A YEAR AND A HALF ago so it's about time we saw it! It was supposed to be this past November but she was sick so they had to postpone it.

For those of you who don't know, I LOVE Celine Dion!!! I think that she is fabulous. I blame my love for her on my Father. She was always played when we went on any roadtrips with the family (along with Enya...of course!), and when my dad gets ready in the morning he always listens to music and Celine was a hit. Growing up I used to steal (well more like borrow without asking :)) my dads Celine CD's. I LOVED listening to them, learning the words and then singing to them at the TOP of my lungs. I still do!

Anyways, needless to say, going to her concert was like going to Disneyland for the first time as a kid. MAGICAL!!! It was also my very first concert-so it was just incredible to me. Too bad we were at the 2nd to last row up in the Energy Solutions Areana! haha. But even at that it was still fabulous! Can you believe that the tickets that were close to Celine were $1,700!!! WOW! And I thought ours were expensive at $58 a pop.

When we got home from the concert I looked up some of her information. There are so many interesting things about her! Among them are:

-She is the youngest of 14 Children!

-Her 81 year old mom insisted on going on tour with her

-This was her first time in Salt Lake City

-She has a shoe fedish and owns thousands of pairs! (how would that be?! And my husband thinks I have a lot!)

-She and her husband met when she was 12 and he was 38!

-Her now husband mortgaged his house to fund her first album because he believed in her so much (she was 12 at the time)

-she has an 8 year old son with VERY long hair

These are just a few of the facts that I found interesting!

Thank you so much for letting us be part of the Celine memories. Guess what? I have an awesome hardback book about her. Tons of photos. I bought it for Dad. He is giving it to you after he saw you sing your lungs out at the concert. Thanks for the amazingly wonderful, divine dinner before hand. Love, mom/sis

It was not a boring blog at all. It sounds like you had a fun trip and concert. That sucks about your camera. That would make me so mad.
