Sunburns

Darrin and I went boating with his family on Friday and my legs got FRIED! Ouch!!! I applied sunscreen twice. But my legs were ghostly white and they haven't seen the sun for one looooong winter. So, therefore they are now cherry red. I can barely sleep at night. So I decided to research sunburn remedies and I thought I would share it with you all because it's summer and sunburns hurt!
  • Apple Cider Vinigar
  • Malox: this works amazingly well, put liquid maalox on a cotton ball or washcloth, apply to sunburned areas and it takes the heat and pain out immediately. Let it dry on your skin, if the sunburn is bad, apply it again when it starts to "heat up" again. you will be amazed at how well this works.
  • Walgreens makes a vitamin E cream that's enriched with aloe and vitamins A&D. Apply it to your sunburn and it relieves it a ton!
  • here is a great sunburn relief, take corn starch and water, a little of each. mix into a paste not to thin and not to thick. hurry cause it dries up fast. apply to sunburn let dry,. do not wash off/ eventually it will flake off. it dries the sunburned area up. and prevents blisters. I usually put the paste on before I go to bed, then shower the next morning. hope it works for you.
  • BABY OILInstructions = since childhood i've stuck with either ALoe Vera's green gel for sunburns ..for mild burns but for heavy burns baby oil works best to moisturize n keep burnt skin soft while it turns into a tan.
  • Mustard: Rub mustard on sunburn. Let it dry. This will pull the heat out and help it tan.

These are just some ideas I found! Try them! I sure will be...

I, being a cosmetologist (refer to about me), like to share my work! So I'm just going to post some pictures of some of my work! Most of these are from when I was going to school. My camera is currently out of order. Otherwise I would have lots more pictures to share! But I will be posting my work every once in a while. I hope you'll be inspired to change things up! Or just plain inspired to come and get your hair done by me!

Bye Bye High School Car :(

We recently sold my high school car. A 1992 Honda Accord LX. Sounds pretty sweet-I know. It was a wagon/hatchback, had some super seriously sweet vibrating going on, and it had 200,000 miles on it. My parents decided to gift the car to Darrin and I for our wedding after my roommate wrecked it. It sounds pretty bad-we thought so too at the time, but it turned out to really come in handy. It was very nice to have two cars, especially because mine had great A/C! But with the vibrating and such Darrin thought it'd be smart to sell it before it broke down (but I knew it'd last forever and always...after all it was my baby!) Anyway, we posted it on KSL with a picture of me on the car with a heading that read, "wife not included". We thought that would draw a bit more attention that the other adds. But it was posted once with hardly any response, and then we re posted it. 35 days passed and we didn't get any bites. When on the 36th day, THREE people called and wanted it! The first person who looked at it bought it. Wow-a huge blessing for us. With Darrin being laid off and all, I'm sure that money will really come in handy. But I have to say, I really miss my baby. It was hard to give her away to a stranger. Isn't it funny how we get attached to our high school clunkers? Well, at least I did!

So Short...So Sweet

Our engagement was so short...but sweet. We dated for 4 weeks before getting engaged and we were engaged for about 2 and a half months. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 1, 2008. We went to Peuro Vallarta on our honeymoon and it was perfect! The weather, swimming with dolphins, playing on the beach....it's only been four months and wouldn't it be nice to take another vacation?!? It'll come...someday. Why on earth are vacations so expensive? Man oh man!
